Robert Pugh is Deputy General Counsel, Technology and Intellectual Property for PNC. In this role, he is responsible for providing legal support for all technology, security and intellectual property related matters, as well as third party agreements, third party risk management, business continuity, crisis response, data management, and data and security issues related to digital and payments platforms. He represents PNC in numerous industry groups related to these areas.
Before joining PNC in 2000, Robert was a shareholder with the Buchanan Ingersoll law firm. Prior to that, he was technology counsel for the high-tech and consumer product businesses of Allegheny Technologies Incorporated and its predecessor, Allegheny Teledyne. Before the start of his legal career, he worked in various engineering and technology roles at Ford Motor Company, General Motors Corporation and Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Robert earned his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his B.S. in Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.
