Michael Wiseman represents a broad range of financial firms, including domestic and international commercial banks, investment banks, insurance companies and rating agencies. His practice encompasses regulatory and enforcement issues, corporate governance and counseling, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, new products initiatives, derivative products, payment system issues, consumer financial products, cybersecurity.
Mr. Wiseman has a long history of advising global financial institutions on their largest transactions and their most sensitive regulatory matters. In his enforcement practice he has represented a number of major institutions before the bank regulatory agencies, SEC, Treasury, DOJ and non-US regulatory authorities on a range of matters, including AML, sanctions, securities law disclosure and fraud claims, and bank regulatory compliance issues.
Mr. Wiseman is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the American Law Institute. He is a visiting lecturer in law at Yale Law School, where he teaches Corporate Crisis Management.
