Mark D. Atherton

Mr. Atherton is responsible for the Americas Sales organization in Oracle’s Financial Services Global Business Unit. Prior to this role, Mr. Atherton led Oracle’s Key Accounts program – a global organization focused on large and complex strategic accounts. Mr. Atherton has extensive background in the enterprise software market and is experienced in sales, business development, and marketing. Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Atherton was vice president of Global and Enterprise Accounts at BEA Systems. He was responsible for developing BEA’s worldwide model for managing strategic accounts. While at BEA, he also held executive positions in industry marketing, business development, and market strategy including responsibility for BEA’s global pricing and licensing strategy, analyzing BEA markets and competitive situation, and is widely involved in BEA’s marketing and sales strategies. Prior to joining BEA, Mr. Atherton held leadership roles at Oracle where he launched vertical marketing and business development efforts in industrial markets. Mr. Atherton has also held a variety of management positions with The Boeing Company including regional director of aircraft contracts, and senior manager of program management. Mr. Atherton holds a J.D. from Seattle University Law School and a B.S. in finance from San Diego State University.
