Lila Fakhraie is a Senior Vice President and head of the Digital Banking Application Programming Interface (API) team within Wells Fargo Virtual Channels. She manages a team responsible for Secure Data Exchange (SDE), which provides customers with the ability to more securely share their financial data with third-parties without sharing their online banking credentials. Fakhraie re-joined Wells Fargo in 2013.
Under Fakhraie’s leadership, Wells Fargo has entered into strategic agreements with several fintech companies that create more reliable data sharing platforms for Wells Fargo customers via application programming interfaces (APIs). These companies include Plaid, Xero, Intuit, and Finicity among others.Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Fakhraie was a senior manager of business product automation at BlackBerry, and she also held similar roles at Oracle and AT&T. Fakhraie began her career at Wells Fargo where she ultimately served as Vice President and Group Finance Officer within the Wholesale Group.
Fakhraie is co-chair of the board of the Financial Data Exchange (FDX), a non-profit organization comprised of financial institutions, fintechs and industry groups and formed to unify the financial sector around a standard for the secure exchange of financial data.
She received a B.A. in economics from the University of California-Santa Barbara and an M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco.
