Jennifer Lucas is an executive director in Financial Services Advisory and the Payments Practice. She brings 25 years of payments and financial services technology experience at banks and technology organizations to the role.
Jennifer joined EY from a top 10 US bank where she was Head of Enterprise Payments and Digital Strategy, Innovation and the company’s FinTech Partnership lead. In this role, Jennifer formed and led the firm’s Enterprise Payments and Digital Council, set the vision for the future of the firm's payments and digital businesses and advised executive leadership on the dynamic payments landscape and required adjustments to the businesses. During her tenure, the firm significantly increased investment in payments, digital channel capabilities and supporting infrastructure and processes (e.g., fraud, operations) resulting in advanced growth in the payments sector and in client digital adoption.
Jennifer is an active industry veteran, contributing to the formation and execution of several industry consortia and programs including clearXchange, LLC (now Zelle), The Clearing House’s Real Time Payments (RTP) and Secure Token Exchange, LLC., The Federal Reserve’s Faster Payments Task Force, The ABA’s Payments Systems Committee, and ViewpointeArchive Services, LLC
Jennifer developed and introduced several payment products at a top 3 bank into the marketplace including P2P service and digital disbursements for treasury management. She holds several payment patents including cross-border payments and currency exchange patents. She has background in a variety of payment rails and services including credit and debit card processing, merchant processing, check image processing, as well as ACH and emerging payments (e.g., mobile wallets, p2p). Early in her career, she helped implement one of the first financial services websites and managed one of the first merchant e-commerce products for a top 5 bank.
